Scale Inhibitor Antiscalant 9000 is specially designed to inhibit the scale formation in RO-systems equipped with polyamide, celluloseacetate- and polyethermembranes with anionically charged surface.
It is a stabilized solution of organic phosphonates and polyacrylates with high dispersing effect. Scale Inhibitor Antiscalant 9000is an excellent inhibitor for calcium sulphate and calcium carbonate. A further advantage is the excellent stabilizing effect for barium and strontium sulphate. In addition even iron may be stabilized. The contained copolymers act also as a dispersing agent for organic contaminants and metal oxides.

Scale Inhibitor Antiscalant 9000 is designed as a highly efficient scale inhibitor for use with cellulose acetate and polyamide membranes. There is no interaction with the membrane material.
Dosage
The dosage is controlled proportionally to the feed water flow. Standard metering pumps are used. Fitting materials are PE, PP or coated steel. In order to avoid biological fouling, the containers have to be cleaned from time to time with a 10 % sodium bisulfite solution or a sodium hydroxide water solution solution at pH=13.
Scale Inhibitor Antiscalant 9000can be diluted with water in any ratio. However, it is recommended to inject the antiscalant undiluted or as solution up to 10 %. The diluted solutions have to be consumed within 48 hours after preparation. The required dosage level depends on the operating conditions and water composition and varies in the range of 1 – 10 ppm as delivered.

Scale Inhibitor Antiscalant is a high-performance scale inhibitor specifically designed on polycarboxylic acids for desalination plants / reverse osmosis (RO) systems. Scientifically formulated to protect and maintain RO membranes, it also serves as an effective cleaner for water softener resins and can be used as a preventative treatment to prolong system life and efficiency.
Compatible with the polyamide-, celluloseacetate- and polyethermembranes with anionically charged surface - RO membranes of the leading manufacturers.
This versatile formulation is particularly effective in systems prone to scale formation and iron fouling. In both RO and water softening applications, RXSOL-15-3302 delivers reliable performance, helping to maintain optimal flow rates and water quality. Highly effective for alkaline RO permeate, or where water to be treated is alkaline.
Traditionally, scale buildup and iron deposits on RO membranes have led to reduced permeate output, declining water quality, unexpected system downtime, and higher operating costs ultimately resulting in early membrane replacement. RXSOL-15-3302 addresses these challenges with a powerful phosphonate-based chemistry that solubilizes iron contamination within sodium ion exchange resin beds.

Application and DosageShould be continuously dosed into the feedwater upstream of the membrane system, typically at a rate of 3-6 mg/L, depending on the feedwater quality and specific system conditions. For best results, it is advisable to operate the dosing pump at the highest possible frequency, adjusting the stroke length to fine-tune the dosing rate and ensure consistent membrane protection. An additional benefit of RXSOL-15-3302 is its compatibility with RO permeate for dilution, with fresh solutions recommended every 3-5 days to maintain efficacy. When used in ion exchange softener resin beds, the recommended dosage is 1/3 litre per 25 kg of salt added to the brine tank. |
